Only one week left!

We are leaving India one week from today!  Actually, at this time next week, we will be on the second-leg of our 22+ hour journey home.  I am so excited to see everyone and to settle back into a more familiar lifestyle.  As part of our departure from India process, we have been trying to meet up with as many of our friends and co-workers as possible before we leave.  This past weekend, I met up with Subhojyothi and Jyothi, two former co-workers, and Subho's wife, Sayoni, for what I thought would be a simple lunch date.  Unbeknownst  to me, they had booked me a sitting with an psychic/astrologer/palm reader!  This guy spoke no English at all, so Jyothi had to translate for me.  He said some pretty general stuff - apparently, I have VERY good lines on my hand, and only one out of 700 people have lines like mine.  I don't know where he got this statistic, but he consulted a lot of cool looking books throughout the session, so let's accept that as true.  Some of the stuff he said definitely fit (though admittedly would fit most anyone), but one thing he said to me definitely did not.  According to the astrologer, I have a 100% chance of marrying in the next year and a half, and there is a 10-30% chance that this will be an arranged marriage!  I tried telling the guy that there is a zero percent chance of me entering into such a union, but he wasn't having it.  I guess only time will tell.

Final Stretch

I have admittedly been really bad with keeping this blog up to date. I tried a few times to update, and Blogger wouldn't take my photos, so I gave up and lost my already dwindling motivation to post anything.  This morning after breakfast, we came across some kids throwing random shit into a sewer, and I liked the photos of them so much that I suddenly wanted to blog again. So I am putting those pics up along with some other ones from earlier this month.

I realize we don't have too much time left here, so I am going to try to better about taking photos, if only for my own sake in remembering how it was to live here. Tim's having VISA issues and has to leave the country by April 21st, and I'm hoping to fly back with him if I can settle all of my accounts and the apartment repairs in time. Regardless, we will both be home in around 5-6 weeks. I have no other concrete details about our return just yet, but will keep everyone posted.
