I haven't posted in a while because there isn't anything particularly interesting going on right now. I've been busy at work preparing for a client visit next week, that will culminate in a "business trip" to Kerala for the weekend. More on that when it actually happens, but I'm counting on it to be.....awkward.
Tim started coaching Rugby for the Karnataka Rugby Football Union's under-16 Bangalore team. There are 700 under-privileged kids involved in the program, which goes to different schools in the area. The kids don't speak any English, and the fields are just rocky dirt patches that look like construction sites, but Tim is having a really good time. He'll have some pictures on here soon.
We kind of missed having Halloween this year, although it was nice not having to hide from Trick-or-Treaters. Aside from dressing the cat up like a hot tranny, our only Halloween observance this weekend was watching a RIDICULOUSLY edited version of The Exorcist. Normally, they just edit out the sexy parts, but this Exorcist had an inexplicably different ending! Instead of briefly becoming possessed and then killing himself to rid the world of evil, the priest in this version never becomes possessed. He just gets thrown out of the window by the devil, who then mysteriously vanishes. I interpret this new ending to be an anti-Catholic/pro-Satan statement by the Hindu editors. It definitely lived up to the TV station's claim - "the version you've never seen!"
In other news, we've been watching the World Series, and are not enjoying having to get up at the crack of dawn to watch the Phillies lose. At least now that there is Daylight Saving's Time, the games are on at 6am here rather than 5. The 10.5 hour time difference from now until spring is going to make it slightly more difficult to talk on the phone, but keep trying us and we'll keep trying you. Miss you guys.

I love the sexy parts! And now I'm really intrigued by this alternate ending. Is it like with different actors or was it a scene that was cut which we've never seen? I'm imagining Indian actors stepping in for a split second hoping you wouldn't notice.
ReplyDelete"Did you see what she did, your cunting daughter??" My favorite line in The Exorcist, delivered inexplicably in a British accent...
ReplyDeleteThat's one good looking cat! You should come visit us soon. We had a festive halloween carving pumpkins and making masks out of bamboo husks. Glad to hear your dad is doing better too, by the way..
